Mei-Ting Sun is a renowned pianist who has won several prestigious awards, including the 7th National Chopin Piano Competition in 2005 and the first Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition in 2002. At the age of 15, he was named one of the Musicians of the Year by the Village Voice. Sun has performed in some of the world's most famous concert halls, including Alice Tully Hall, where his rendition of Ravel's Concerto in G was described as "stunningly fluid" by The New York Times.
Sun has given recitals
across North America, Europe, and Asia, and has appeared in concert tours in countries such as Brazil,
Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Spain, the United States, and China. He has also performed with notable orchestras like the National Spanish Orchestra, the Macau Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia, the Warsaw Philharmonic, and the Orchestra of Almeria. Upcoming engagements include recitals in the United States, China, Poland, and Spain, as well as concerto performances with the Macau Orchestra and Shanghai Symphony.
Sun's educational and outreach work in classical music has gained significant media attention through his website whitekeys.com. He frequently conducts masterclasses at major universities worldwide. Born in Shanghai, Sun moved to New York at the age of 9 and attended the Professional Children's School and Mannes College of Music, where he studied piano with Edward Aldwell. He holds both Bachelor's and
硕士's degrees from Mannes College of Music and earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Juilliard School under the guidance of Robert McDonald.
