福建中旅集团公司位于
福建省福州市鼓楼区湖东路171号中旅大厦五楼，是福建省国有资产监督管理委员会直属的国有企业，其前身是1949年11月19日在福建省
厦门市成立的闻名海内外的新中国第一家“华侨服务社”。
（下称福建
中国旅游集团）顾名思义，它最早成立的目的是为海外华人、华侨及港澳台同胞回国探亲旅游提供服务。随着各地华侨服务社相继成立，全国华侨旅行服务总社于1957年4月22日成立，并于1974年成立
中国旅行社。1987年，各地中旅社由中央下放归属地方管理，为了适应深化改革，扩大开放和我国旅游事业迅猛发展的形势要求，经
福建省政府授权省经委于1988年12月28日批准，以福建省中国旅行社为核心，下辖
厦门市、
泉州市、
石狮市、漳州、
武夷山市等8个子公司的福建中旅集团公司正式成立。福建
中国旅游集团主要经营范围包括对旅游、宾馆、餐饮业、公路运输业的投资管理、咨询服务和人员培训等。2004年7月，福建中旅集团成为由福建省国资委履行出资人职责的首批省属企业之一，2005年7月，经福建省国资委核准
集团公司的注册资本增资变更为35527.1万元。
2007年，集团公司进行重组整合，将过去以地域分块的管理架构重组整合为垂直化、专业化的管理体系，发展成为融旅行社、饭店、旅运为主业的一体化、综合性的大型旅游集团。福建中旅集团公司子公司遍布全省各地市，现有6家二级专业总公司，即：
福建省中国旅行社、福建中旅饭店管理公司、福建中旅汽车公司、福建
中旅资产经营公司、福建中旅物业管理公司和福建中旅实业股份公司。
