科研成就
陈院士的工作特点是通过对基础的理解与创新意识和灵感相结合,简化复杂的工程问题从而简单有效的解决实际问题。通过创造性的科研给产业带来可观的效益。减少能源利用与减少环境污染并提高产品质量,提高人类生活的品质并为社会进步服务。已亲自指导了100多名硕士与博士到成功毕业。在苏大,陈院士主讲一年级的“化工导论”课程。陈院士的业余爱好包括绘画,读书,参观博物馆,欣赏流行音乐与散步等。

团队建设
2012年,由陈晓东主持领导的研究团队在
苏州大学组建,之后这个团队发展成为苏州大学化工与环境工程学院。该团队设置了多学科交叉的研究方向,积极开展科技创新与成果转化工作,同时致力于高层次人才培养以及国际化建设与合作相关事宜。2018年,该团队荣获第五届全国教育改革创新
优秀奖。

陈晓东在苏州大学主讲一年级“化工导论”课程,辅讲二年级的“工程数学”等课程。
